Dear VHEW Family,

We are excited to welcome all students back to West on Wednesday and Thursday for the final two days of the school year. Both days will follow a half-day schedule, with dismissal at 11:30 a.m. both days. Please read this entire message carefully for important details.

School will begin at the regular start time on both days. Merryvale Road will reopen tomorrow morning with a temporary repair in place, so carpool procedures will remain unchanged. Please drive carefully, as there will be no road striping in the repaired area.

Students whose classrooms are located on the first floor will be relocated to rooms on the second and third floors. You will receive a message from your child’s homeroom teacher this afternoon with more information.

We will hold modified P.E. and recess both days, and class parties will take place as scheduled, outdoors. For fifth grade families: Our Fifth Grade Farewell will be held on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the Annex Gym. Parents will enter the gym through the side gym doors. There will be no visitors allowed in the main school building on both days.

Again, school will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday.

• Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
• EDP services will NOT be provided.

Please ensure your child brings a backpack on both days. Teachers will be sending students’ belongings home in their backpacks.

You will hear more from your child’s teacher this afternoon with information specific to their class. Thank you for your flexibility and support as we wrap up the school year together at West.
