Shannon Stewart is the Assistant Principal at Vestavia Hills Elementary West and is beginning her 15th year in education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University and a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from Samford University.
Shannon began her career at Calera Elementary School in Shelby County Schools, where she spent five years serving as both a math interventionist and classroom teacher. She returned home to Vestavia City Schools and has been part of the Vestavia Hills Elementary West community for the past nine years, serving as a classroom teacher, Instructional Partner, and now Assistant Principal.
As a proud graduate of Vestavia City Schools, Shannon is honored to serve the community that helped shape her. She believes strong relationships create the trust that allows students, teachers, and families to grow together. Shannon is committed to supporting teachers, helping West continue to grow and improve, and ensuring every student feels loved, supported, and challenged to grow in both confidence and character.
